Purge-it! is amazing. It was certainly designed for the intermediate to advanced user who would know the ins and outs of the system. Purge-it! allows you to monitor your system in several different windows. It can display the processes running, some registry settings, as well as current connections to your PC. From here its your choice what to do to protect your system. You can end processes individually (works like NT) and even monitor your ICQ client connections. Very good.
